History

The Land Bank Countryside Development Foundation, Inc. (LCDFI) is a non-stock, non-profit corporate foundation of Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) established in March 1982. LCDFI embodies LBP's commitment to spur development in the countryside. Among its priority sectors are the small farmers and fishers, agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), Countryside Financial Institutions (CFIs), small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

The programs of the foundation focus on enhancing and sustaining institutional viability of cooperatives accredited by LBP. LCDFI offers technical trainings, consultancy services, coaching and mentoring during microfinance outreach activities. Moreover, it also assists accredited cooperatives in coping with requirements of assessing financial services from LBP. The foundation gives educational assistance to farmers and their dependents to enhance competitiveness and expand the opportunities.
